If we referred to the second half of 2023 as a “transitional” period between the traditional educational model and a more modern approach centered around information and communication technologies, the first semester of 2024 will mark the beginning of a technological update process in our classrooms and knowledge-sharing spaces.
In this context, the institute’s facilities have been modernized to make teaching more dynamic, incorporating smart TVs and internet connectivity into the classrooms. Consequently, our professors have been provided with laptops for preparing and delivering their classes, as well as third-semester students; this shift invites us to develop more dynamic and digitalized environments, moving beyond the routine of chalkboards, markers, and erasers.
The technological update at IUTA JHS also includes the acquisition of a comprehensive Student Management System, an integrated system that covers all phases of university administrative processes (enrollment, retention, graduation) with features for tracking grades, student and faculty attendance, and other tools to ensure adherence to academic planning and objectives. It is important to note that the equipment has been purchased and will be operational in the coming days, allowing us to test its effectiveness before the start of the first semester of 2024.
The technology upgrade also entails installing a more efficient internet service to support the transition to distance education. This will enable master classes with experts on specific topics, providing ongoing updates for our teachers and students without requiring their physical presence, thus saving costs and maximizing efficiency.
The internet usage segmentation is planned for the first quarter of 2024, aiming to ensure that its use is not only academic but also recreational within set hours and designated wifi zones for our students, teachers, and staff.
Lastly, it is important to mention that we are 70% through the preparation for our III Expo Feria, an event where our students showcase their progress in their fields of study. This year, the event will be extended to four days, from February 20 to 23, to allow Group JHS executives, special guests, family members, and the community to see what our students have to offer.
We continue to advance in the professional development of our students.
